GimpGirl is a place where women with all kinds of disabilities (and abilities) have come together to talk about what it means to be a woman with a disability (WWD) since 1998. We currently hold weekly support groups, presentations on relevant topics, vendor space and parties on our parcel. Soon to come is an art gallery with works by WWDs, and events for the general public.
(see for a calendar of events)
The GimpGirl Community sim is open to the public, with a focus on supporting women with disabilities, and informing their partners and allies, as well as interested professionals and academics.
There many great people that make up GimpGirl, but your main hosts are JennyLin Arashi and Aleja Asturias. You can contact them with any questions, thoughts or concerns.
There is a GimpGirl group, where members are kept up to date about events and meetings. Currently there are monthly discussion topics, and weekly support meetings for women with disabilities, with other meetings announced periodically for partners, allies, and the general public.
The land has several main areas. (Click on labeled areas to explore the sim.)
-First floor: Lounge and discussion area (including TV)
-Second floor: Art gallery featuring works by woman with disabilities (open to submissions)
-Third floor: GimpGirl administrative offices
-Roof: Dance floor and pool area
