12. Landmarks, Map, and Teleporting: /2 landmarks and /2 map

People can move around SL by teleporting to given coordinates called "Landmarks."

1. Landmarks: The mobility devices come with two default landmarks stored inside: "Club Accessible" and "Virtual Ability."

"Club Accessible" takes you to

There is a free "Accessibility Box" here that includes a one-prim doghouse for Max. Club Accessible is a social club for everyone, including those with disabilities.

"Virtual Ability" takes you to

This is where you began the Virtual Ability New Residents' Orientation Trail.

To find out what landmarks, you have inside your device, type /2 landmarks. The landmarks are then listed in the chat history. Pick which landmark you want to go to, and note its exact name.

2. Map: As with the other powerful commands, "/2 map" requires that you type the full name of the landmark exactly as it appears in the list given by /2 landmarks-including spacing and capitalization.

For example, if you want to go to Club Accessible, you would type /2 map Club Accessible.

3. Teleport: After executing a /2 map command correctly, the SL screen will display the Map window with the Club Accessible landmark coordinates. To teleport to those coordinates, tab to the "teleport button" (lightly tap the tab key 6 times) and press enter or spacebar.

NOTE: An advanced user can add landmarks to the device: right click on the device, click edit, and drop the landmark onto the contents' tab or drag the landmark from your inventory and drop it onto the dog while holding CTRL.

If the normal name of a landmark is difficult to type, an advanced user can change its name to something simple using the SL "rename" command before the landmark is put in the contents of the dog, cane, or ring.
